Hey all,
Custom knife maker John Grimsmo is hosting a USN gathering at his place along with his brother Erik this weekend. It's going to be a great chance to meet all the other local USN folks. I'm sure there will be some really nice customs there to play with and fondle as well!
It's been a great ride so far ever since becoming more and more involved with the knife communities on YouTube and the forums. In my experience those who I've met through the knife community have been truly upstanding, kind, welcoming, and generous individuals. Perhaps it's because this common interest we all have that is somewhat seen as "uncommon" by the majority of the population that really binds us together as a family.
Sure there are a few bad apples here and there, but in my opinion the good vastly outnumber the bad and even the bad ones are sometimes just a little rough around the edges or lacking table manners. But anyways, there really is something about the knife community that truly looks out for one and other. Am I viewing all this through rose-coloured glasses? Perhaps. But in my experience when you look for the good, that is all you will find. My hat's off to all the genuine individuals whom I've met through this fun and interesting hobby that have made the "community" what it really is.

ReplyDeleteAnd yes, there are a lot of really solid bros here interested in knives. Pretty much everyone I have spoken to, from industry reps, to custom makers, to enthusiasts have all been good people. It's what keeps me coming back.
